1. About COXO & Qualifications
COXO (Foshan COXO Medical Instrument Co., Ltd.) is a professional dental instrument manufacturer. Founded in 2003 and based in Foshan, Guangdong, we focus on the research, development, and production of dental treatment units, endodontic equipment (including endodontic preparation motors and apex locators), dental handpieces, light-curing devices, and implant devices.
We operate a strict medical device quality management system and hold the following certifications for different target markets:
- ISO 13485 (Medical Devices – Quality Management Systems)
- ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems)
- CE (EU conformity) and MDR compliance
- FDA (US) Registration / Listing
Our production facilities include cleanrooms and an in-house EMC testing laboratory to ensure electrical safety and product performance.
This is an important question. If you hold the CE/FDA certificate and your own brand, you are the legal manufacturer. COXO acts as your contract manufacturer. We can assist with the transfer of technical documentation if needed.
Yes. OEM and ODM services are available for distributors.
2. Product Technology & R&D
Our endodontic device, such as the DB686 Honor, offers the following key advantages:
Three operating modes: resin curing, orthodontic curing, and caries detection.
-
-
Large fiber optic tip with ultra-high light intensity: Delivers over 3,000 mW/cm², meeting orthodontic requirements while reducing curing time and improving curing effectiveness.
-
Low-temperature curing mode: Features a proprietary low-temperature technology that achieves the same curing results with a lower temperature rise compared to conventional curing.
-
Smart Focus function: Automatically tracks the light spot and provides real-time alerts, along with active irradiance compensation to ensure consistent output.
-
Yes:
- Material– COXO curing lights use high-quality LED chips and efficient heat dissipation (metal body + fan) to prevent overheating-induced decay.
- Monitoring– Devices include a built-in intensity check function or can be calibrated with external meters.
- Maintenance– Regular cleaning of the light guide tip is essential; resin residue or aged light guides reduce transmittance – this is a common clinical issue.
Yes. We provide full-service development, including industrial design, mechanical design, PCB prototyping, mold making, to mass production. Whether you need custom colors, modified motor speeds (e.g., implant motor), or special connectors for dental chairs, our engineering team can assist.
- Automatic Torque Reversal: Automatically reverses the rotation when the torque exceeds the set value to prevent the file from breaking.
- Automatic Deceleration in the Apical Zone: Automatically reduces the rotation speed when approaching the apical foramen to improve safety.
- Reciprocating Motion Mode: Some models (such as C-SMART MINI AP) have a professional reciprocating mode, which is more suitable for preparing curved root canals.
- Market Position:
Domestic market share of root canal treatment devices exceeds 70%; international market share of dental handpieces exceeds 60%. - R&D Philosophy:
Company Chairman Zheng Yongliang stated that "shortening the new product launch cycle is the key to the development of the medical device industry," calling for the optimization of inspection, testing, and registration approval processes. - Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration:
Participating in the construction of the "Southern Dental Valley" initiative, promoting the integration of local medical devices into the "Nanhai Smart Manufacturing Ward" demonstration applications. - Talent Challenges:
There is a chronic shortage of high-end R&D talent. On-campus recruitment fails to secure qualified candidates. The company is strengthening collaboration through university-partnership initiatives.
3. Production & Quality Control
How does COXO ensure quality standards are met?
COXO strictly adheres to international product safety standards and regulatory compliance throughout our entire operation — from R&D and manufacturing to sales and after-sales support.
Precision components for dental handpieces and endodontic motors are assembled in Class 7 (ISO 14644-1) certified cleanrooms. Every batch undergoes leak testing and noise testing after assembly.
We have a strict supplier qualification system:
- Critical components (power cords, bearings, LED chips) must pass RoHS, REACH, or biocompatibility (ISO 10993) tests where applicable.
- Batch inspection reports are required upon incoming goods.
- Components not produced in cleanrooms are cleaned (ultrasonic or plasma) before entering the assembly line.
It depends on the product type:
- Standard accessories(LED bulbs, handpiece connectors) – low MOQ, trial orders accepted
- Customized appearance products(OEM color/logo) – higher MOQ due to injection molding (typically 500–1000 sets)
- Complete units– negotiable; we support small-batch, multi-variety flexible production.
COXO products are well-known in China and recognized by many dentists. We have adopted advanced technology and high-quality materials, which increases the product cost. However, the value of your money is the high-quality product you get from COXO — ensuring reliable performance and long-term durability.
No. The promotion is based on fixed system settings. You can only receive 10 free pieces when you purchase 100 pieces. The system does not support scaling down to "buy 10, get 1 free." Our finance system will not approve such a proportional discount either.
4. Sterilization & Regulations
What dust-free workshop facilities does COXO have?
COXO has advanced dust-free manufacturing and assembly facilities dedicated to the production of dental equipment, including a 100,000-level dust-free workshop covering more than 3700㎡. For more details, see our Facilities list.
The sterilization method depends on the product type:
Dental handpieces (high-speed / low-speed): Autoclaving at 134°C (273°F) is generally recommended, as these devices must withstand high temperatures. COXO handpieces are internally equipped with high-temperature resistant bearings and O-rings.
Root canal motors / light-curing lamps (handpieces with internal circuitry): Immersion in liquid or autoclaving is strictly prohibited. These devices cannot be autoclaved. Please clean them by wiping with surface disinfectant wipes (containing alcohol or chlorine-based disinfectants), or use low-temperature plasma sterilization.
Note on EO sterilization: COXO does not currently recommend EO (ethylene oxide) sterilization for these products unless specifically stated in the user manual. Please refer to the individual product instructions.
COXO provides after-sales calibration and repair services. Annual calibration is recommended. Please contact our local service center or your authorized distributor. Warranty terms and technical support contact are provided in the user manual.
You can request your regional account manager's contact information by sending an inquiry to our official sales email address or by filling out the contact form on our website. Please include your location and product interest for a faster response.
5. After-Sales
Under EXW terms, you are responsible for all shipping arrangements, costs, and risks from the moment the goods are made available at our location. This includes freight, insurance, customs clearance, and delivery to your final destination.
Yes. Besides the EU and US, we export to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South America, Africa, and more.
If you need to import COXO devices (or your branded versions) into Saudi Arabia (SFDA), Brazil (ANVISA), Thailand, etc., we can provide technical documentation, test reports (e.g., IEC 60601 series), and a Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) to support your local registration.
No. Under EXW terms, customs clearance and all export/import procedures are the buyer's responsibility. If you use your own freight forwarder, they can assist you with these processes.
COXO has not authorized any online platforms to sell our products, and we do not have any official flagship stores on e-commerce platforms. For international customers, we recommend purchasing through our authorized distributors to ensure product authenticity, quality, and after-sales support.
Our products have different warranty periods, but the standard warranty period is 12 months. Please consult our sales team for details.
International buyers (including trading companies and individual purchasers) should contact our after-sales engineer directly to discuss specific issues. If a return to COXO is required for repair, the buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. For our authorized local distributors, COXO provides 3% off spare parts and offers complimentary after-sales repair training. Common technical issues can be resolved through the distributor's local after-sales team.
