CLINICAL WORKFLOW

Suggested Clinical Workflow

  1. Preparation
    Selection of Abrasive Polishing Powder
    • Supragingival: Sodium bicarbonate 65µm, glycine 65µm, etc.
    • Subgingival: Erythritol 14µm, glycine 25µm, etc.
  2. Air Polishing Techniques
    1. Supragingival Air Polishing Technique
      • When performing normal air polishing using the air polishing handle, pre-spray the nozzle into the external container for 1-3 seconds to ensure even air and water distribution before treating the patient;
      • It is recommended to maintain a distance of 3- 5 mm between the nozzle outlet and the tooth surface, and the air polishing direction should be at an angle of 30-60° to the tooth surface.
    2. Subgingival sandblasting technique
      • When performing normal subgingival air polishing using a subgingival handle, it is recommended to use the nozzle to remove plaque from periodontal pockets 4-9 mm below the gum line, using an up-and-down lifting motion during cleaning;
      • It is recommended that air polishing time for each periodontal pocket point not exceed 5 seconds.
  3. Use and maintenance
    • Install and maintain according to the product instruction manual.

PRODUCT COMPARISON

Comparison

Type PT Master2.0 (before update) PT Master3.0 (after update)
Nozzle structure
Two-section direct injection structure
Three-section elbow nozzle structure
Heating system
Basic heating
Four-level intelligent temperature control; both sandblasting and ultrasonic blasting support warm water output.
Water supply system
Sandblasting supports both internal and external water; ultrasonic blasting only supports internal water.
Both sandblasting and ultrasonic blasting support switching between internal and external water supply.
Piping system
Routine cleaning and maintenance
After the sandblasting handle is returned to its original position, a "micro-air blow" is used to keep the pipeline dry and prevent sand blockage.

FAQs

What is the COXO PT Master?

COXO Medical's PT Master ultrasonic air polisher is a high-end, multi-functional dental cleaning device that integrates ultrasonic scaling, periodontal treatment, root canal irrigation, implant maintenance, and supragingival and subgingival air polishing.

How do I switch the device from "ultrasonic scaling" to "sandblasting mode"?
  • Fully automatic intelligent recognition.
  • The machine has a built-in automatic recognition system.
  • Pick up the corresponding handle (ultrasonic or sandblasting), and the system will automatically light up and activate the corresponding screen control interface, eliminating the need for manual button switching.
The screen doesn't automatically change after I pick up the controller. What should I do?
  • Check the handle plug. Confirm that the handle connection cable is securely and correctly inserted into the master port.
  • Clean the metal contacts. Disconnect the handle and use anhydrous alcohol swabs to wipe the metal contacts of the plug and socket to rule out recognition failures caused by poor contact.
Are the nozzles and powders interchangeable for supragingival and subgingival abrasive spraying?
  • Never mix them.
  • Supragingival air polishing (Prophy) uses a standard air polishing handle with regular-hardness powder to remove stains caused by tobacco, tea, and pigments.
  • Subgingival air polishing (Perio) requires a special, extremely fine powder (such as glycine) and a specially designed supragingival/subgingival fine nozzle to avoid damaging periodontal soft tissues.
What is the warranty period?
  • The control unit and handpiece are guaranteed for 24 months from the date of purchase, and the accessories (adapter) are guaranteed for 6 months. The remaining wear parts and accessories are not guaranteed.
